If you’re uncomfortable in heels, you could pair a similar dress with stylish flats in black – or even a leopard print would be fun!
Why I love this dress:
Fitted clothing looks SO MUCH BETTER than loose, flowy things when you’re pregnant. Maternity portraits are the perfect time to show off your gorgeous pregnancy curves (and maybe even celebrate not having to suck in your stomach, if you’re like me!). If you like the idea of a fitted dress like this one, but you’re not quite ready to go all in, pair it with a long cardigan or pashmina. Layering works so well for photo sessions and adds a little extra something to your images.
For most mamas, a dress of this length is going to fall at about your knees, making it a fantastic length for standing and sitting poses. As a bonus, it would be cool in the summer and you have the option to add layers if it’s chilly.
Photo session scheduled for spring or summer? No worries. You can easily find a similar dress in a soft pastel or cream.
Why these accessories work:
This entire look is simple, classic and timeless. The pearl earrings are delicate and feminine and bangles add a playful element to your look. If you wear a scarf or pashmina, a necklace could still work, as long as it’s very delicate. Keep in mind a necklace might get lost underneath a scarf, so you could remove it for some of your photos.
What could dad-to-be wear with an outfit like this?
Dark jeans and a button-up shirt would look great, paired with nice dress shoes or boots. Remember dads should never wear sandals, Crocs or tennis shoes. They stand out like a sore thumb in photos 🙂
