Here’s an up-and-coming trend in maternity sessions that I’ve noticed lately: green dresses! Gabby is the second mom I’ve photographed in green and I love how well it works with nature-themed sessions. (Meet Cynthia, another mama who rocked a green dress during her maternity photo session in Spring, TX)
Gabby and her husband have one sweet little girl and they are expecting a baby boy in March! We met for her February baby bump session with just about a month to go. Houston weather is so unpredictable – it can be freezing on Wednesday and warm again by the weekend, so a short-sleeves work, even in February. She’s so beautiful in this green cotton dress, and her necklace and bracelet are perfect accents. Simplicity is key for maternity sessions – the focus is on your baby bump, but tasteful jewelry can add the perfect amount of visual interest.
We caught the sun setting and the light was so lovely! Since I prefer to shoot using natural light, my two favorite times to schedule sessions are at sunrise and sunset. That golden light favors every skin tone and illuminates the background in such a gorgeous way.
Although Gabby rocked her green dress, I also offer maternity gowns and wraps for my mamas to wear during their sessions! This means you don’t have to invest $200+ in a maternity gown you may not wear again. Most clients wear one of my gowns for half the session and change into their own outfit halfway through.
Ready to schedule your maternity session? All I need is a few details about you! I will be in touch soon!
