I’m sharing What to Wear tips this week to help you plan an amazing photo session, whether it’s for maternity, hospital or newborn photos. Today we’re focusing on suggestions for hospital sessions and wardrobe tips for new dads!
Mamas get so much attention during pregnancy – people are constantly asking about you and baby! Dads usually don’t get quite as much love, and they probably aren’t as concerned about looking good for photos as you are. That’s why I’m here to make getting your husband ready for a Fresh48 session super simple.
Here are my favorite tips for Fresh48 sessions to help dads look their best:
- Mamas, select your outfit first. Once you know what colors you’re wearing, make sure dad compliments you. For example, if you’re planning on a black nursing cami, I suggest a shirt in white, ivory or gray for your husband.
- Polos, henleys or short-sleeved button down shirts look great and effortless for new dads. Avoid patterns (this means no plaids or stripes) since this takes attention away from your newborn. Opt for solid colors instead, which is timeless and polished.
- Nice jeans or pants work best for husbands. Please avoid excessive wrinkles, rips and tears! Your photos will look much better and he’ll look put together. Although you’ll both be tired after baby arrives, I strongly encourage dads to change out of pajama pants for your photo session.
Pro-tip: Go to Old Navy or Target and pick up an earth-toned solid color cotton Polo shirt for your husband. Wash it, put it in your hospital bag with your stuff and pull it out for him when it’s time for your session. Neither of you has to spend another second thinking about what he’ll wear for photos!
There you go – this is my essential list of tips for Fresh48 sessions and husbands! However, my Fresh48 Style Guide includes even more key tips, photos and suggestions for dads-to-be for the perfect photo session.
