Amanda & Hector prepare to meet their daughter in a magical garden-themed maternity photo session
This gorgeous early summer photo session is filled with fairy tale colors and two parents who can’t wait to meet their baby girl! Mama-to-be Amanda is glowing in a soft pink fitted dress that shows off her perfect basketball bump!
A big weekend for this soon-to-be family of three!
Life seems extra busy when you’re expecting; your to-do list is overflowing with baby-related things. There is a nursery to decorate, tiny clothes to wash and fold, endless baby things to put together, registries to fill… not to mention having beautiful maternity photos taken!
The Friday evening I met Amanda and Hector for their maternity photo session was even more exciting – Hector was graduating the next day with his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University! So many big, amazing things happening all at once for this sweet couple!
Amanda was dreaming of maternity photos with a nature vibe, so it made perfect sense to meet at a sprawling outdoor garden. With so many beautiful flowers in bloom and an endless backdrop of light green, it was easy to forget we were in the middle of a busy city on a Friday evening.
Mama in pink, dad in khaki and white
Amanda and Hector’s maternity photos look like they’re straight out of a fairy tale with all of the soft, neutral colors and romantic setting! We kicked off the photo session next to a pond, with her and Hector snuggled together and laughing. I love to weave joy and romance into these sessions. Oftentimes, all the attention when you’re pregnant is on mama and baby, and dad-to-be might be feeling a little left out. This is the perfect time to celebrate the two of you, along with your baby bump, before there is a newborn to show off!
After a few photos of Hector and Amanda together, I focused on just mama-to-be and her pretty glow for a bit. With her bright smile, Amanda lights up in every single photo!
“Baby in bloom!”
When she scheduled her maternity photos in the spring, Amanda specifically requested getting at least a few photos back right away so she could display them at her baby shower, scheduled for the weekend after her session. With a “baby in bloom” theme, I captured lots of photos of Amanda surrounded by flowers and the soft greens, yellows and oranges at sun set. She had a few lovely canvases made using photos from her maternity session just in time for her baby shower. Even better, they’ll make perfect decorations for her daughter’s nursery!

Tiny maroon and white shoes
Props personalize a maternity session quite a bit, and there’s nothing I love more than adding a little Aggie flair to photos! Amanda brought along tiny maroon and white shoes with a block aTm, perfect for her little Aggie on the way. We made sure to pair these sweet shoes with a shot of mom and dad’s Aggie rings!
Up next: celebrating Amanda and Hector’s daughter!
This precious Aggie-on-her-way is slated to arrive in mid-July and I can’t wait to see her sweet face! We’ll celebrate her arrival with a peaceful, lovely in-home newborn session as soon as her mama is ready!
